Emma Raducanu: The teenage sensation with 'star quality'

Earlier this year she was 336th in the world - now she's in the US Open tennis final

In terms of rises, Emma Raducanu's has been nothing less than stratospheric. The 18-year-old British tennis player has reached the US Open tennis final with a straight-set win over Greek 17th seed Maria Sakkari in New York, becoming the first qualifier to ever reach a Grand Slam final. Earlier this year she was ranked 336th in the world.

And so Saturday's final will become the 'battle of the teenagers' as she takes on Canadian Leylah Fernandez.

Jo Durie is a former professional player who reached No.5 in the world world rankings in 1984. She says everyone in the tennis world already knew Emma was a great player - but to perform at this level during a Grand Slam shows 'star quality'.

"She does it with such ease. I love that smile of hers, she's enjoying everything she's doing... And also playing someone who's the same age as her, who's also really in the same situaton. I mean what an opportunity for either of them."
