Looming humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan's Panjshir Valley
The Taliban say they are now in control of Afghanistan's Panjshir Valley - the last area to hold out - but the resistance fighters who have been battling them reject this.
What isn't in doubt though is that a humanitarian crisis is now developing in the region - with families trapped inside the narrow valley without access to adequate food or medical supplies.
One Australian-Afghan charity attempting to operate in the area is Mahboba’s Promise. Nawid Cina, the Acting General Manager, founded the charity with his mother. They still have many close friends and family in the valley.
