Britney Spears has announced her engagement to her long-term boyfriend, Sam Asghari. The couple met on the set of a music video in 2016 when Sam was a dancer.

Spears is fighting a legal battle to end her 13-year conservatorship which was imposed after concerns were raised over her mental health - and which controls both her personal life and finances. She's said the terms of the arrangement were preventing her from marrying or having more children.

Last week, the singer's father Jamie Spears filed papers in a Los Angeles court to end the conservatorship.

"They posted videos and pictures on both of their Instagrams showing the ring, saying how elated they are, putting a lot of heart emojis, so they're very much celebrating at the moment."
