Young people on climate: Humanity is doomed
Climate change is causing widespread psychological distress amongst young people - that's the conclusion of a new report based on the opinions of 10,000 16-25 year olds from around the planet. Over half said they think humanity is doomed.
Dr Caroline Hickman from the University of Bath, the principal investigator of the study, says the greatest levels of anxiety is found in countries where little action is being taken - and that adults SHOULD talk to children about the subject.
"What they tell me makes them anxious is when people don't talk to them about it. We had a significant number who said they felt dismissed or ignored."
