Canada: Trudeau set to win election - but not majority
National television projections in Canada suggest that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party will return to power after Monday's vote - but that he won't get the majority he was seeking when he called the snap poll.
In fact, it looks as if the result of the election - which cost C$610 million ($477 million US) - is likely to be a continuation of the status quo.
Canadian journalist Malcolm Jolley says the government haven't done well - but neither have the opposition.
"The Canadian public just said, 'that's it, enough! Just govern please... I think Canadians weren't feeling super-happy and great and ready to bestow rewards on this government."
