‘They should care – they should stand with me’
Hatice Cengiz, fiancée of murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi has spoken of her disappointment following the news of the Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle United.
“It is like giving the green light to those who have been linked with crime,” she said.
The death of her fiancée was deemed to be the responsibility of the Saudi government, according to a UN investigation.
The Premier League approved the takeover of Newcastle United, which is backed by the Saudi government.
“Please do not let them wash their hands with this big business, please say stop here,” she said.
