'Midwives are telling me they're terrified and exhausted'
NHS leaders are warning of severe staffing shortages in hospitals as thousands of nursing jobs remain unfilled.
In England, the Royal College of Nursing says there are around 40,000 vacancies for registered nurses.
Midwife Leah Hazard told 5 Live’s Rachel Burden that “delays, dissatisfaction and near misses are making midwifery an unappealing career choice”.
