‘It’s about getting up and living every moment I can with him before I can’t’
A woman has described what it’s like to live with secondary breast cancer and making the most of time spent with her son.
Emma was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2020, after being initially diagnosed in 2019, which she was treated for.
She began to feel unwell in June 2020 and was re-diagnosed.
“It’s been quite a roller-coaster for us as a family,” she said.
Emma lives with her husband and her three-year-old son.
“It’s not what I wanted for him and his future, and our future together – but it’s about getting up and living every moment with him until I can’t,” she said.
Emma hopes that telling her story will raise awareness of secondary breast cancer.
