Ireland climate minister: Need for climate justice at COP 26
Ireland's climate, transport and environment minister Eamon Ryan has called for there to be a deepening of the commitment to tackle climate change by countries around the world at the UN's climate summit in Glasgow.
Mr Ryan backed Pope Francis' message on the need for 'radical action' on climate change, and said that wealthier countries should pay to help poorer countries adapt, and criticised the lack of action that has come out of the previous international agreements.
The leader of the centre-left Green Party, which forms part of the Irish government, said big polluters such as China need to do more to act on climate and called for it and other actors to make greater investments in renewable energy systems.
