'Bionic' teacher back in class thanks to fundraiser
Two years ago, primary school teacher Kath Tregenna, came down with a fever. After calling for help she was rushed to hospital where she nearly died of blood poisoning and had multiple cardiac arrests. To save her life, doctors performed a quadruple amputation on her legs below the knee and her arms below the elbows.
But now - after a fundraising effort by the children at her school - she received new bionic arms and legs which respond to her brain's signals to her muscles, and is back working in the classroom.
She told us her story.
