Moira Stuart: My mother would shield her patients during WWII bombings
Like many of us, broadcaster Moira Stuart was fascinated by wartime stories, but it wasn’t until she appeared on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One’s Who Do You Think You Are? in 2004 that she realised her own family played pivotal roles in World War Two.
She has since then embarked on her own family history journey, with the help of Ancestry, where she’s discovered both her mother and maternal aunt’s extraordinary contributions in the war effort, including stints in the air force and as a nurse.
