‘He had a pretty high disregard for women'

Fiona Hill went from "the coal house to the White House" when she became one of the top Russia advisors in Trump’s administration. The daughter of a coal miner and midwife, she grew up in Bishop Auckland in the 60s, a town impoverished by mass deindustrialisation and the closure of mines.

She joined Emma Barnett on Woman’s Hour to discuss working alongside Donald Trump, the impeachment enquiry that catapulted her into the public eye and her new memoir, There Is Nothing For You Here: Finding Opportunity In The 21st Century.
