COP26: 'Governments must be held accountable for their promises'

The COP26 summit is drawing to a close, ending two weeks of intense talks on how best to reduce the effects of global warming and rein in further temperature rises. For many policy makers, a key part of delivering on environmental goals is agreement on how the transition will be financed.

John Denton, Secretary General of the world's largest business association, The International Chamber of Commerce, believes that there is now a greater sense acknowledgement that urgent action is needed, and that has led to more people from the financial sector attending the conference sessions - but what is needed now is agreement on how the governments will be held accountable for delivering on their promises.
