Jack Savoretti: 'I'm still smiling through the tears'

Speaking to 5 Live's Nihal Arthanayake, singer Jack Savoretti shares his thoughts on his father's recent passing, and how he found himself reaching for the phone to call him since.

Jack told Nihal that while he's "very scared about the time when the tears stop, and the sadness is just there", he felt that he and his family "were very privileged in this particular circumstance because we did know, we were told."

"That's a real experience, watching somebody psychologically deal with being told 'your time is up'" he continued, adding that his father was "drinking bottles of wines and eating what he wanted to eat pretty much until the final hour."

Jack admits he's tried to call his father since, saying "I felt so stupid...it would've made him giggle. He would've had all sorts of insults...can't you see I'm dead?"
