The United Nations is today calling for a record $41 billion dollars, to fund its humanitarian work next year. It estimates that 274 million people will need emergency relief in 2022, which is a 17% increase on this year. Officials say that protracted conflicts and the climate crisis were hitting the most vulnerable hardest. Mark Cutts is the UN Deputy Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for the Syria Crisis. He told Newshour about the conditions for refugees in Syria.
