Sigur Rós star Jónsi showcases volcano exhibit in New York

Icelandic artist Jónsi, who initially gained international recognition as a member of the experimental rock band Sigur Rós, is showing his artwork at Tanya Bonakdar Gallery in New York City. The exhibit is inspired by the recent eruption of the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland. Unable to travel to his homeland to experience this rare phenomenon, he instead conjures up the natural wonder through two new sound installations, a series of sculptural works, and artist-created scents.
