During the past 20 months of the pandemic, we've seen how supply chains have been disrupted, but usually we've focussed on the content of deliveries. Yet, as the Christmas holidays approach the packaging industry is under increasing strain to source essential shipping materials, such as corrugated cardboard, paper and resin.

With prices up 20 percent in the past year, packaging consumer goods has been tougher. Salvatore Abbate is CEO of Fortune 500 packaging products company Veritiv Corporation, based in over 20 countries. So what are the challenges the company is facing in the US?
