Young pupils allegedly made to re-enact Holocaust in US school
School officials in Washington DC say a staff member who allegedly forced young students to re-enact events from the Holocaust has been placed on leave. The alleged re-enactment by eight and nine year olds included shootings and digging of mass graves.
DC Public Schools confirmed the incident to the ѿý and said an investigation was underway. In an email sent to parents of Watkins Elementary School on Friday, principal Mscott Berkowitz stated, “I want to acknowledge the gravity of this poor instructional decision, as students should never be tasked to act out or portray any atrocity, especially genocide, war or murder.”
Jonathan Greenblatt CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said his organisation was contacted by parents at the school to report what happened.
