How will you mark the arrival of 2022? With champagne and dancing? With a grimace and crossed fingers that it's better than 2021? Socially distanced and in a mask?

We've asked a selection of people from France, the Gambia, Ecuador and Scotland to tell us how they intend to celebrate - especially when many traditional events have been cancelled because of tightened Covid restrictions.

"People will gather this night with friends and family in more intimate dinners and parties and drink and eat and welcome a 2022 we all hope sees the decline of the Covid pandemic."
