‘It’s about gravitating to stuff that gives you joy’
Journalist and author Poorna Bell found motivation through powerlifting after the death of her husband. Last year, aged 41, she was able to beat her personal record by lifting 130kg. She’s hoping to bust the myth that getting stronger is only for younger women.
In a week when many of us may be considering exercising more as a New Year's resolution, she joined Emma Barnett on Woman's Hour to discuss her experience of trying a new sport and how it helped her through her grief.
