Following the tragic deaths this week in a crush at the African Cup of Nations it has been announced that no further matches will be played at the national Olembe Stadium in Cameroon.

Disturbing videos of the crush have since been on social media, showing people desperately trying to escape the surging crowd, some of whom were trying to get in for free. Among the eight dead were two boys, aged eight and 14.

Irene was almost crushed to death as people walked on her. As she was entering the stadium she says: 鈥淭he police suddenly asked us to stop, I don鈥檛 know why鈥� then the crowd behind was not informed of what was happening in front鈥�they kept coming鈥�.
