Covid: Misinformation battle on Spotify
Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, many popular digital content platforms have adopted “misinformation” policies to limit users from sharing inaccurate or misleading information. So how about the Swedish platform Spotify?
Singer-songwriter Neil Young has asked the Sweden-based streaming platform to withdraw his work for keeping podcasts such as the Joe Rogan Experience which he says is a harm to public health. J Clara Chan from the Hollywood Reporter told Newsday why Neil Young took the action:
“Well, two words: Joe Rogan. He’s not happy with the covid misinformation that was spreading on Joe Rogan’s podcast.”
“This isn’t the first time someone has pulled their music. But this is the first time Spotify has responded. ”
