Canada Covid: Why a trucker protest is causing chaos in Ottawa
Protesters in Canada strongly opposed to a vaccine mandate for truckers crossing the US-Canada border have brought the nation's capital to a standstill for a second day.
Thousands of demonstrators joined the so-called Freedom Convoy in Ottawa.
The truckers have been joined by anti-vaccination campaigners and others increasingly fed up with pandemic restrictions.
Marieke Walsh is a political reporter for the Globe and Mail newspaper from Ottawa. She says "There are peaceful elements of this protest, wanting politicians to know how frustrated they are, and then there are also more threatening nefarious elements."
