What's the secret to Rafael Nadal's success?
Rafael Nadal won a record 21st Grand Slam men's title in the most stunning fashion, fighting back from two sets down to beat Russia's Daniil Medvedev in a classic Australian Open final.
Backed by a loud Melbourne crowd, sixth seed Nadal rallied to win 2-6 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 6-4 7-5 on Rod Laver Arena.
Does the win put him in the running to be the greatest player of all time?
Sebastian Fest, author of the book Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal: The Lives and Careers of Two Tennis Legends, tells Newsday what makes Nadal a champion.
"It was an incredible match, one of the best finals I've ever seen in a Grand Slam," he says, "and it's not by chance that in many of those finals, Nadal was one of the contenders. I mean if you see the celebration after the victory, Nadal's celebration was a combination of astonishment and disbelief, and I think that this defines Nadal's moment very well."
