Are thongs back in fashion?
For those who remember the late 90s and early noughties, thongs were a defining emblem of popular fashion, often poking out of low-rise jeans.
But recently, brands like M&S are seeing a surge in their thong sales since 2019, and with the resurgence of 'Y2K' style among Gen Z, it seems that thongs are back.
A browse on Instagram, Depop and Asos will show that underwear as outerwear is in fashion, with some designers even designing clothes to have a sewn in exposed thong as part of the design.
The hashtag #whaletail has 51million views on TikTok, with lots of women, and some men, incorporating them as part of their outfits.
