'I told my kids "I love you forever" and in my mind, that was the last thing I'd ever say to them'

Deborah James, one of the hosts from You, Me and the Big C podcast, told 5 Live's Tony Livesey how she experienced what she called the "scariest moment of her life."

Minutes after a previous interview with 5 Live, Deborah suffered a traumatic bleed. She rang for an ambulance, but delays meant she had a 50 minute wait time.

Deborah explained she hadn’t wanted to make the call as she'd "always grown up thinking an ambulance should be there in your moment of need"- but she felt as though she'd been "left for dead."

She was saved by her husband who rushed her out of the house – she said she’d felt forced to tell her kids "i love you forever" as she thought it would be "the last thing [she'd] ever say to them."
Deborah's children are 12 and 14-years-old and she told Tony Livesey how daughter "saw everything", something "you would never wish upon your children”.

You can listen to Deborah's full story on the 'You, Me and the Big C' podcast on ѿý Sounds.
