Afghan evacuees in UAE call for resettlement in the US
In the last few days, thousands of Afghan, living in camps in Abu Dhabi, have taken part in a rare protest, outside their residential compound, over their limbo in the UAE. They fled Kabul in the chaotic days of August 2021 when military flights flew tens of thousands of Afghans out of the country as the Taliban took over. They come from all walks of life but all expected they would soon be on their way to a new life in the United States. We spoke to one Afghan who wants to remain anonymous.
