The Queen 鈥渄eserves a fantastic celebration鈥� in her Platinum Jubilee year and does not need to be 鈥渦pset鈥� by the Duke of York鈥檚 legal worries, a Conservative MP has said.

Andrew Rosindell, the MP for Romford, said the legal battle between the duke and Virginia Giuffre was a 鈥減rivate matter鈥� for the royal.

Mr Rosindell鈥檚 remarks came after it was reported that the Queen would help to pay the 拢12 million out-of-court settlement Andrew has agreed with Miss Giuffre. A letter filed to the US district court on Tuesday confirmed the settlement, but makes no admission of liability by the duke.
