Margaret Atwood: ‘Of course we are sad – how could we not be?’

Margaret Atwood's third and latest collection of essays, Burning Questions, is about to be published and gathers her essays and other non-fiction pieces from 2004 to 2021.

As the author of more than 50 books of fiction, poetry and critical essays, Margaret won her first Booker Prize in 2000 for her novel The Blind Assassin and shared her second win with Bernadine Evaristo in 2019 with the sequel to her 1985 classic The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments.

Aged 82 but showing no signs of slowing down, Margaret spoke to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour presenter Emma Barnett about what her life is now like as a widow, after losing her long-time partner Graeme Gibson in 2019.
