Ukraine conflict: 'Every single country has a duty to react'

Russian forces have launched a major military assault on Ukraine, with reports of missile strikes and explosions near major cities. Russian military vehicles were said to have breached the border in a number of places, in the north, south and east, including from Belarus. At least seven people are known to have been killed in Russian attacks, police say. Another 19 are missing.

Dominik Tarczynski, a Member of the European Parliament from Poland for the Law & Justice Party, says he believes that Vladimir Putin is guilty of war crimes and should be tried. He called on every country to respond, saying that Poland is ready to take in refugees from Ukraine, and that others including the UK should curb Russian influence and ramp up sanctions.
