Evgen Solonyna is a freelance journalist in Ukraine. He says he was woken up by the sound of 鈥渕ultiple explosions鈥� at Boryspil International Airport outside Kyiv.

He says a Russian drone behind the attacks has since been shot down by Ukraine鈥檚 Air Defence Forces, a claim dismissed by Russia. The journalist says that many residents of Kyiv are leaving the city: 鈥淭here are strange traffic jams鈥� it looks like people are leaving for western and southern parts鈥�.

However, he says he is not afraid: 鈥淲e waited for this attack for 8 years鈥� now it鈥檚 a reality鈥�.
