Russian drone reportedly shot down by Ukraine
Evgen Solonyna is a freelance journalist in Ukraine. He says he was woken up by the sound of “multiple explosions” at Boryspil International Airport outside Kyiv.
He says a Russian drone behind the attacks has since been shot down by Ukraine’s Air Defence Forces, a claim dismissed by Russia. The journalist says that many residents of Kyiv are leaving the city: “There are strange traffic jams… it looks like people are leaving for western and southern parts”.
However, he says he is not afraid: “We waited for this attack for 8 years… now it’s a reality”.
