‘Just as we came back in, the sirens started again’
An English teacher from Brighton living in Kyiv, films his first steps outside after the weekend curfew.
Dan Baker lives in the Ukrainian capital with his wife and stepdaughter.
They’ve been staying in a basement away from their flat for safety.
He said, “I will actually poke my head outside and see if it’s safe enough.”
As he walked the streets for the first time in almost two days Dan spoke of how everything seemed relatively normal, with people walking their dogs.
However, a couple of minutes after arriving back to the basement, air raid sirens rang out across the city.
“Officially curfew has finished, but it doesn’t sound good,” he said.
