Ukraine: Besieged resident of Kharkiv 'keeps positive'
Despite the Ukrainian ability to blunt the Russian attacks in Ukraine there are reports of significant Russian advances.
The port city of Kherson on the Black Sea coast has been captured by Russian forces, and we are also hearing reports that paratroopers have landed in Kharkiv in the north-east.
Vlad Vanzha is a resident of Kharkiv. He spoke to Newsday on the seventh morning after the invasion of his country, the night after his family had fallen asleep listening to the airstrikes.
“At the moment we have everything, at least for another week. A week feels like it’s so far away. We are keeping positive.”
