Zelensky's former director: 'He demonstrates fearlessness in whatever he does'
Before Volodymyr Zelensky became President of Ukraine, he was an actor and comedian who had no experience of politics.
David Dodson is a director who worked on 10 films with Zelensky. He joined 5 Live's Clare McDonnell to talk about what kind of man Zelensky is.
As the Russian invasion of Ukraine develops, President Zelensky regularly addresses the world and 'demonstrates fearlessness' and a 'Chaplin-esque ability to be honest and open on camera because he's genuine', David said.
David met his wife through one of Zelensky's films and he added, "knowing the Ukrainian people and knowing Volodymyr is to know them as being the same." He feels that Volodymyr Zelensky has a "deeply personal relationship with his fans because it's the same as having [that] relationship with his family."
