The war in Ukraine is re-shaping the way Germany sees itself and its role in the world.
The German government published its draft defence budget yesterday which will take defence spending to a record high and put the country on course to be the biggest military power in Europe – and perhaps the third biggest in the world.
Nick Robinson in Berlin has been hearing from people across the German political divide on how the country should respond to this new era - and what those responses will mean for Europe.
