One key objective for Russian troops in Ukraine is the port city of Odesa. But so far they have been unable to conquer Mykolaiv, a small town, which is on the route.

The Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, tells 蜜芽传媒 Newsday: 鈥淎ll those horrible pictures from Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kyiv, they made us stronger. They made us more motivated to defend our land, our families, our freedom, our democracy鈥� we won鈥檛 give any chance to Russians to move through Mykolaiv.鈥�
