Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos spoke to 5 Live鈥檚 Nihal Arthanayake about his opinion of fame.

鈥淓ncounters with fame always felt a little absurd,鈥� he said.

He talked Nihal through some of the more notable experiences.

鈥淲alking up the red carpet to the Grammy鈥檚 in between Hulk Hogan and James Brown, that felt a little absurd,鈥� Alex laughed.

Attending a party hosted by R&B artist Usher who was 鈥渟tanding on a box holding two tiger cubs鈥� was a particular highlight.

鈥淲e鈥檙e just four guys from Glasgow,鈥� said Alex, still slightly perplexed at the band's global success 20 years on.
