Deadly Ecuador prison riot
Ecuador's prison system has witnessed its latest outburst of deadly violence.
At least 20 inmates have been killed as a result of the clash in the El Turi prison in Cuenca.
Prison riots, often between warring gang members, are very common in Ecuador.
Journalist Stephan Kueffner who's based in the Ecuadorian capital, Quito, spoke to Newsday about what promoted the most recent violent outbreak in El Turi.
