Joining Steve Stuttard on his balcony is a pair of mallard ducks to nest their 13 eggs.

Steve tells 5 Live鈥檚 Clare McDonnell they return every year to nest in his box planters; 鈥渋f you create the right environment nature will find a way to move in鈥�.

He explained 鈥楳rs Mallard鈥� sits for 鈥�23 hours a day鈥� on the eggs and when they hatch it will total 鈥�40 ducklings in three years鈥�.

Steve estimated that the ducklings should hatch on 25 April, when he will use a 鈥渂ucket and a long piece of rope鈥� to help move the ducklings down to the ground floor.

Within 30 seconds they are down to the 鈥渜uayside and in the water鈥� with their mother.
