Imran Khan鈥檚 removal a first for Pakistan鈥檚 democracy?
The frontrunner to become Pakistan's next prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, has hailed a new beginning for the country, after Imran Khan was ousted in a no-confidence vote.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the current chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party. He tells Newsday that the removal of Mr Khan is a first for the nation: 鈥淚n Pakistan鈥檚 history, no prime minister has been removed through democratic means.鈥�
He says opposition parties in Pakistan support Mr Sharif because he will implement 鈥渆lectoral reforms鈥� towards new, fresh, free and fair elections where the people of Pakistan can decide鈥�.
