Can Peru鈥檚 president survive protests?
There have been violent protests in Peru in recent days as people have taken to the streets over rising living costs, and fuel and fertiliser prices.
Simeon Tegel of the Washington Post says the leftist government of Pedro Castillo, which won elections in 2021, 鈥渞aised a lot of expectations, especially amongst the poor鈥� people who thought that life was going to get better鈥nd it hasn鈥檛鈥�.
