“If there's one infection after you've been released, you're going back to quarantine”

Documentary filmmaker Christian Petersen-Clausen is stuck in his apartment in Shanghai as the city-wide lockdown is ongoing.

He told 5 Live’s Clare McDonnell people are only allowed to re-enter their ‘community’ after seven days with no infection- “if there is one case, the clock rewinds.”

A ‘community’ in Shanghai consists of “seven high-rise buildings with 22 floors and eight apartments per floor.”

Asked if this policy is sustainable, Christian said “we don’t know how this can be achieved …if there’s one infection after the seven days, you go back into quarantine.”

He described the people of Shanghai as feeling “dispirited” as more videos emerge of people going through “breakdowns.”
