Sex For Water: How water shortage is costing women more than money in Kenya
Kenya and three other East African countries are facing an aggravated water crisis and drought. According to the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, up to 20 million people in Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia and Eritrea will need water and food assistance in 2022. In Kibra, an informal settlement in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, residents are feeling the impact of water shortage. They pay for water and sanitation, but the shortage is costing their women and girls more than money. ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News Women’s Affairs Correspondent, Azeezat Olaoluwa reports.
