Depp v Heard: 'It's a case of whose reputation is on the line'
Warning, this clip contains strong language.
In the US state of Virginia, the Hollywood actors Jonny Depp and his former wife Amber Heard are at logger heads in a courtroom. He is suing her for $50m, over an article she wrote for the Washington Post in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. Mr Depp denies the allegations and has described Ms Heard as violent, emotionally unstable and a liar.
Ms Heard is countersuing him, for $100m, and now it is her turn to take the stand and detail the allegations in her own words.
Newsday unpacked the likely impact of her testimony with Los Angeles-based entertainment commentator Gita Amar.
“She had tear in her eyes and was welling up. This is… a reputational case. It’s not [about] the money. It’s a case of whose reputation is on the line.â€
