There鈥檚 been a dramatic, fatal end to a prison-break in the United States involving a prisoner and a prison guard.
The runaway case of escaped Alabama inmate Casey Cole White and prison officer Vicky White, who were not related, led to a nationwide manhunt.

It ended after the guard shot herself and later died in hospital. Newsday heard more details from William Thornton, a reporter for the Alabama website, al.com, about the now recaptured inmate and the deceased prison guard.

鈥淪he sold her house at a loss and鈥� had bought a car which they fled in. In 2015, he was arrested for kidnapping his girlfriend鈥� then in 2020 he wrote to the authorities and confessed to killing a woman for money. There鈥檚 some evidence that their friendship went on for two years. We鈥檙e just now beginning to understand what they might have done over the last week or so.鈥�
