Deborah James, host of the 鈥榊ou, Me and The Big C鈥 podcast spoke to 5 Live鈥檚 Tony Livesey on Drive following her announcement that she has stopped active bowel cancer treatment.
The 40-year old was diagnosed in 2016, leading her to set up the podcast alongside Lauren Mahon and Rachael Bland.
Following her announcement, she set up the Bowelbabe fund for Cancer Research UK, raising over 拢2.7 millions in just two days.
She said: 鈥淚 hope that everything we have shared over the years has saved lives.
鈥淲e need to stop things like this happening.
鈥淚 wanted to raise enough money to find projects that I myself would鈥檝e benefitted from five years ago.
鈥淚 know we have the skills and passion in this country, we just need to fund it properly.鈥
