US President Joe Biden has visited the city of Buffalo in upstate New York, following a racist mass killing there over the weekend which resulted in the death of ten Black people, shot in a supermarket.

Mr Biden met the grieving families and while speaking to the attending media, described white supremacy in the United States as "a poison running through our body politic".

One local politician, who was there for President Biden's visit is Buffalo Council Member Rasheed Wyatt.

He spoke to Newsday saying: "We as a country and the majority have to stand strong, and address and denounce that type of hatred, that's the type of hatred that ruins countries - and we don't want it to destroy ours".
