Author Jon Fosse sees himself as just "simply a writer" and says he draws inspiration from Samuel Beckett the playwright. For him writing is all about precision rather than exploring themes. For Damion Searls, translating A New Name was a challenge but a very welcome challenge and explains that having no full stops in the prose creates a flow that's very unique to Jon Fosse's style of writing.
