Sam Ryder: ‘Even reading good comments could possibly lead you down a path to misery’
Singer-songwriter Sam Ryder has won the hearts of the UK after his song Space Man came second in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
He found fame during the Covid lockdowns by posting cover versions on TikTok. Sam gained the attention of stars such as Justin Bieber and Alicia Keys and now has 12.8 million followers on the platform.
Sam says his advice for dealing with the highs and lows of TikTok fame is making “peace with how you will feel in your life at the plateau point.”
“If you put your currency and your validation in that peak, you are asking for a whole world of trouble because it's unsustainable, it's like a dopamine rush,” he says.
“It is our attitude and our relationship that will dictate whether it will have a positive or negative impact upon our own life.”
