As EU leaders debate whether there should be a ban on Russian oil and gas imports, Edgars Rink膿vi膷s, Foreign Minister of Latvia, shares his thoughts.

He tells Newsday: 鈥淲hat we are seeing is actually a decades long blunders of EU and member states鈥� energy policies. We are getting more and more reliant on Russian gas and oil and definitely it is very difficult to stop it immediately.鈥�

However, he says there 鈥渋s a willingness for structural change鈥� but that will come 鈥渨ith a cost and requires some time鈥�.
